What is HVAC? Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) are three closely related fundamental functions found in homes, offices and other building structures. As an HVAC unit operates it produces a water byproduct called condensate which must be contained and controlled to prevent the possibility of an overflow resulting in water damage to the structure. AquaGuard condensate management systems can help protect your building from unforeseen damage, while giving you a truly professional HVAC installation. |

A float switch is a water sensing device designed to detect the presence of condensate overflow. The switch is placed into the secondary drain pan, which should normally stay dry. Upon sensing moisture, the switch will turn the system off to help prevent damage to carpets, walls, ceilings and other property. |

Most HVAC units come installed with a primary drain pan to collect condensate moisture and typically remove it by way of a primary drain line. Sometimes these primary drain lines become clogged with debris such as insulation or rust and will overflow the primary drain pan. In this event, a secondary pan is needed to contain this overflow of moisture until the primary drain can be serviced. |
